Welcome!

Hola amigos,

My name is Gracie Mahan and I am a junior who is currently studying in Seville, Spain. Welcome to my blog! Before I begin this blogging adventure I thought it would be a good idea to let you know a little more about me.

According to my father, there are three kinds of people in this world. People who plan for everything, and are always prepared. People who prepare for everything, but can't handle anything. And people who plan for nothing but somehow manage to stumble their way through any situation. According to my father... I am undeniably a stumbler.

Need an example of my stumbling? Here's a selection...

1) I launch my phone onto concrete just about every time I get out of a car, and yet, it never breaks.

2) I sometimes drive with my eyes closed (because I'm singing of course), yet I never crash.

3) I'm clumsier than a beached whale, but I've never broken a bone.

4) I always win games...I could smash the controller with a hammer and still win at Wii bowling.

Call it Karma or good Juju, but things always seem to work out for me. However, regardless of my trustworthy yet haphazard luck, I had several concerns about going abroad: What if I hate the food? What if I accidentally say something embarrassing in Spanish? What if I fall victim to human trafficking?

Though some of these concerns, namely the first two, are legitimate, during my first two weeks in Seville I have discovered that even the mishaps that you encounter while studying abroad are adventures in the making, things to be enjoyed and not feared! I guess you could say that I've learned a valuable lesson: Some people say that blondes have more fun, but if you ask me, it's the stumblers who have the best time. So this semester jump on board, read my blog, and join me as I Stumble through Seville!
